Hector & Haddock Ephemera

Framed pieces of vintage paper ephemera, dating from the 1870s through to the 1970s. Items used include theatre programmes, World War Two recipe cards, tobacco labels, school exercise books and reports, holiday menus, love letters, receipts and sheet music, to name but a few.

Hector & Haddock Pictures

Pictures created using either a much loved phrase or motif. Maps are used, particularly for bespoke work where customers request certain places, however phrases and paper need to complement one another- either appropriately or humorously- “High Jinks” from a school report for instance, or “Off the Charts” using old naval charts.

Vintage paper ephemera is used as the basis for each piece, be it a card bearing a 1930s opera ticket, to framed artwork using unusual tobacco labels. Each piece is a one-off, using original materials - and truly celebrates the history and beauty of paper.
